About Valley Apparel

Valley Apparel LLC is the continuation of an uninterrupted manufacturing tradition of excellence started in 1959 as Alpha Industries, Inc. We are a small business concern with manufacturing facilities in the Knoxville, Tennessee area. The company was started by John Niethammer, who had over 50 years of government contracting and manufacturing experience when he passed away in 2020.  His son, Jeffrey Niethammer, who has over 35 years of government contracting and manufacturing experience, leads the company today.  Three of John Niethammer’s grandsons, Justin, Matt, and Kevin, are actively involved in the company as well. Our heritage is deeply rooted in serving the US Military. This manufacturing heritage started soon after the Korean conflict, continued on through Vietnam, and now in the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars. Through this time, we have manufactured and delivered millions of apparel items to all branches of the Armed Forces.

As more and more manufacturing is moved offshore, Valley continues to be deeply committed to “Made in America”. We are family-owned and, as we have grown over the past 50+ years, have remained loyal to our community, customers, and employees (a trait that has become increasingly rare in society).

Our original manufacturing facility was in South Knoxville, Tennessee but in 2025, we relocated to a newly renovated facility in Northeast Knoxville, Tennessee and it encompasses over 62,000 square feet.  It employs over 100 people, many of whom are second and third generation employees.  In our new facility, we are positioned for growth and expansion if required.

We are ISO-certified and emphasize timely deliveries of quality products manufactured in the US by well-trained and dedicated employees. We are in business to serve those who protect the freedoms we hold dear and will do all in our power to provide them the apparel they need to better perform their operations.
